FAQ:
What does a Christ Centered running group mean?
It means we combine fitness with faith. We encourage each other through scripture, prayer and uplifting conversations while pursing physical health. Every Step is taken with a purpose and God in mind. We will start each run with a prayer and Thank You God’s from the week before we take off running.
What if I want to run a different distance then scheduled?
Go for it! It’s about connection not competition.
How does the group connect and participate?
We will connect through a private online group where we will post the weekly virtual challenge, share check ins encouragement, victories, and prayer requests. We will meet once a week locally for those who want to connect in person.
What do I need to get started?
Just a good pair of walking or running shoes and a heart ready to move! We will guide you from where ever you are, no special equipment or apps required. Unless you want to personally use one to track steps/miles!
What if I am faster/slower then others?
No problem! We will all start together but there is no need to stay together as one group, unless you want to.
I don’t know any one, I am new, I don’t even know if I want to run!
No worries! Walking is always welcome and if you don’t want to do it alone simply speak up, one of the leaders would love to run/walk/jog with you. And you may just surprise yourself and find a new friend who you move together with!
Will there be a pacer?
No there will not be a pacer, but others on the team may have a race they are preparing for and have goals in mind for each race.
What if I can only come to one?
That is great! Sign up any ways! The virtual weekly challenges are for everyone in the group AND we can not wait to get the steps in beside you the week you can come in person!
Is there a cost to join?
This group will always be free to join! Any races, run coaches, or optional additional events or wellness tools come with additional opportunities but are not currently offered through Destination Fitness. There is no requirement for any of those.
